Civil Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Municipal Infrastructure group in Calgary. This role will focus on engineering services for complex projects related to water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure, with an emphasis on underground installations. Clients include municipalities, provincial governments, telecommunications, and private utility owners.

Responsibilities

Act as Engineer of Record for designs, technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and construction contract documents.

Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept to design to construction.

Execute tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects.

Perform QA / QC reviews on project deliverables for other Engineers of Record.

Mentor and coach engineers and technologists on technical work and project management processes.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA within six months.

5+ years of experience in civil engineering design and construction of stormwater, water transmission, sanitary sewer, and grading projects (brownfield and greenfield).

Knowledge of government and industry standards, specifications, and regulations for water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure design and construction.

Familiarity with City of Calgary and Alberta requirements considered an asset.

Established relationships with product vendors and third-party utility owners.

Valid driver’s license with ability to travel within Alberta.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is considered an asset.
