Position

Senior System Engineer - Satellite Operations Control Centers (SOCC)

Location : Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada

Responsibilities

• Design a highly configurable, reusable, and adaptable SOCC architecture to meet client operational requirements.
• Contribute to SOCC architecture and design analyses, including procurement decisions.
• Develop and produce deliverables such as engineering plans, requirements specifications, interface control documents, and operational concepts.
• Develop and maintain mission-level, SOCC, and SOCC sub-system requirements for satellite operations.
• Prepare and issue requests for proposals and statements of work for subcontracted design portions.
• Review design, build, and test hardware from subcontractors to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Develop and implement integration, verification, and validation plans and procedures.
• Provide technical supervision of integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Collaborate with other teams, functions, and subcontractors to ensure problems affecting the SOCC are resolved satisfactorily across all design, development, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Develop SOCC training plans and supervise their execution.
• Lead commissioning teams (including travel to client locations worldwide) to resolve issues, contribute to client operator training, and participate in launch and initial operations (LEOP).
• Mentor and coach team members.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in English; French knowledge is a plus (products developed for non-Quebec clients).
• Support the satellite operations team during critical phases.
