Established and reputable international public mining company headquartered in Vancouver.
What- the Role :
Reporting to the Director, Finance, Reporting & Compliance the Manager, Technical Accounting is responsible for overseeing global technical accounting and related valuation work. This role requires a driven individual to take the lead in resolving complex technical accounting issues across the organization. The successful candidate will interpret and implement IFRS requirements, perform impairment analyses, collaborate with teams across various operational sites, and prepare public financial reports.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong track record of working with complex accounting issues and a solid background in preparing public financial reports. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, analytical abilities, and organizational capabilities will be essential for success.
- Lead in the preparation of accounting analyses on complex IFRS accounting issues.
- Work with operations teams globally to understand operational challenges and assess the IFRS and reporting implications.
- Collaborate with corporate development teams on strategic initiatives and complex financial arrangements.
- Review IFRS accounting analyses prepared by Senior Technical Accountants and other team members.
- Manage the preparation and review of external financial statements.
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors regarding complex accounting issues.
- Partner with departments such as corporate development, tax, and legal to provide accurate accounting expertise in a fast-paced environment.
- Coordinate the review of impairment indicators, including factors such as market conditions, discount rates, and asset valuations.
- Assist with impairment testing processes, including data collection, analysis, and valuation modeling.
- Identify required competencies for success and develop plans to address skill gaps.
- Work with integrity, consistently meeting commitments, and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.

Who- the Candidate :
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.Proven experience with IFRS technical accounting issues.At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with Big 4 Accounting Firm background.Strong understanding of IFRS and its application.Advanced Excel skills for accounting computations and software add-ons.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across various levels.Excellent organizational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail in technical and financial matters.Ability to deliver results under pressure with strong oral and written communication skills.How Much :
144,000 - $178,000 + discretionary completion bonus. The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity +
