POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain, inspect, service, test and repair all systems on locomotives, mobile equipment and vehicles used in plant, yard and road service
- Diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and make repairs within regulatory and company guidelines
- Complete work in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings and service manuals
- Evaluation of parts for reuse, repair or replacement
- Non-structural welding, adjustment and calibration to mechanical components
- Modify and construct mechanical assemblies
- Maintenance of low voltage repairs on locomotive electrical systems
- Service locomotive cabs which include cleaning cab walls, locomotive toilets, windows and floors
- Operate equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes, forklifts and hand tools
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma / general equivalency diploma, requiredValid driver’s license, requiredPossess one of the following Red Seal in Heavy-Duty Mechanics, Automotive Technician, Agriculture Equipment Technician, Truck and Transport Technician, Recreation Vehicle Service Technician or Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), and / or 6 years practical or general experience in mentioned applicable to the trade or possess a Unifor Local 101R cardAvailable to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditionsAbility to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in EnglishProven dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines / rulesStrong communication skills (provide clear and concise instructions / directions)WHAT CPKC HAS TO OFFER
