Develops analyzes and implements statistical models for computerized financial trading strategies and quantitative finance techniques. Understands and adopts strategies to apply automation. Utilizes creativity and innovation to create novel approaches and solutions to trade profitably in markets. Applies expertise in the financial domain and coding of strategies for algorithmic traders to convert them into algorithms. Provides simple solutions to more complex trading problems through deep quantitative analysis with mathematics computations.

• Builds large-scale distributed computing programs to generate analytics and present results in user-friendly visualizations.
• Codes innovates and improves proprietary models and algorithms.
• Designs and delivers solutions with high reliability resiliency and scalability.
• Completes data preparation data testing and modeling tasks in accordance with established policies standards and accepted modeling practices.
• Performs as a specialist in all areas of the software life cycle and operates as a hands-on technologist to deliver solutions.
• Supports the design development and maintenance of a high performance automated trading platform and supporting infrastructure.
• Focus is primarily on business / group within BMO; may have broader enterprise-wide focus.
• Exercises judgment to identify diagnose and solve problems within given rules.
• Works independently on a range of complex tasks which may include unique situations.
• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
