The Design Branch within the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways is seeking an energetic, strategic, and highly motivated leader to join our team as Director, Design Delivery in the Regina, Saskatoon, or Prince Albert office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Ministry’s geohazard program as well as approximately 40% of the design projects identified under the Ministry's capital program, including functional planning studies and major capacity enhancements such as twinning and passing lanes, grading, and resurfacing projects.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for a diverse group of approximately 12 professionals located in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.

- Oversee the delivery of a portion of the capital plan, including but not limited to, planning and resourcing, reviewing and approving designs and reports, providing technical advice, overseeing forecasting, and risk management and mitigation;

The successful candidate will have :
An Engineering degree or extensive equivalent experience and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or limited licensee with APEGS;Several years of progressively responsible experience and knowledge in highway design, construction, contract administration, and contract and procurement law;Extensive knowledge and expertise in the application of engineering concepts, principles, practices, and standards used in the planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of the provincial transportation network;General knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, project management, asset management, maintenance and preservation, operations, construction, contract administration, contract law, budgeting and forecasting, and human resources; andGeneral knowledge of The Highway and Transportation Act, The Highway Traffic Act, The Cities Act, The Municipalities Act, and The Occupational Health and Safety Act.We are committed to workplace diversity.Hours of Work : M - Monthly Out of Scope
