Position Summary
Reporting to the Recreation Program Coordinator, the Summer Program Leader is responsible for the day-to-day planning and implementing of an active based, safe, fun-filled and educational summer-camp program for children of various ages. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have related education and training in working with children of all ages, along with a demonstrated interest in child-focused programming. Applicants are required to have some university-level studies in Education, Recreation, or a related field from a recognized institution. Previous experience working with children of various ages and interacting with parents and the public is required, while experience working as part of a team is considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and a mature, responsible attitude, along with strong organizational and exceptional interpersonal skills. The ability to listen and communicate constructively with children, parents, and coworkers in a positive and respectful manner is essential, as is the ability to work efficiently with minimal on-site supervision. Applicants must possess or be willing to obtain required certifications including WHMIS, High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development, and Standard First Aid Level C with CPR and AED. The successful candidate will hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License. Your commitment will be required for the entire duration of the season.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will provide a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check at time of hire.
Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Duration : June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026
