The positionTeach lessons as directed by CNC LeadProvide teacher on call support as required filling classroom teacher absences on a day-to-day or extended basis.Deliver courses/lesson plans to students according to approved curriculum.Implement innovative strategies to teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations and field trips and guest speakers as necessarySupport teachers by working in classrooms with small groups and individual studentsLead the classroom education team, including education support staffLead and motivate students in activities to promote their physical, mental, and social development, well-being and their school readiness.Ensure safety of students and learning environmentMaintain constant awareness of the needs of studentsEnsure students are actively engaged in their own learning Empower students to be responsible and take actionAccommodate special needs of studentsSupport implementation of Individual Education PlansPerform other assigned duties as requiredWhat you bringBachelor of Education You are qualified in current good standing with the BC Teacher regulation BranchYou are a dedicated educator & lifelong learner who leads with relationship and respectYou are confident with behaviour management and able to care for yourself and others in challenging situationsYou appreciate the variety of relationships and learning opportunities which teaching on call providesYou recognize that the most impactful learning can happen outside of a conventional classroomYou are a collaborative team player who respects and values what each member of the community contributes to educationYou are dedicated to incorporating our indigenous Coast Salish culture, hul'q'umi'num language and stz'uminus ways of knowing in your teaching and personal learning journeyYou are passionate about supporting indigenous students to expand their learning.Awareness of trauma informed wellness for self and others.
