Job Description

As a Production Supervisor, you will lead a team of 22-60 members, providing front-line leadership to ensure employee safety, food quality, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement. You will work alongside three other supervisors to manage and guide production processes across different shifts, ensuring that manufacturing practices align with government food safety regulations and GMPs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead multiple team members, ensuring safe work procedures and food safety compliance.
• Conduct SOP training and safety training for all production operators.
• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
• Ensure daily production manufacturing practices meet government food safety regulations.
• Manage employee work schedules and assign duties.
• Resolve employee conflicts and facilitate team cohesion.
• Educate, motivate, coach, counsel, and guide production employees to deliver results.
• Manage controllable costs of the manufacturing process by meeting product standards.
• Develop team members and support continuous improvement projects in plant operations.
• Work with internal and external departments to ensure smooth production operations.
• Prepare shift reports and ensure proper communication between departments.
• Ensure raw materials and packaging are properly staged with the warehouse crew.
• Coordinate with the QA team to release rooms for production start.
• Ensure proper transition and closure of production lines during shift changes.

Work Environment

Our food manufacturing facility operates at a fast pace with lots of conveyors and machines always running. The production floor and general warehouse areas are kept at 8-10 degrees Celsius, with some cooler rooms at 0 degrees and freezer rooms at -18 degrees. You will primarily work at our Richmond location, which includes three cooler rooms and two freezer rooms, with a small secondary warehouse across the street. The dress code requires steel toe work boots, and no jewelry, nail polish, or fake eyelashes due to food handling. Please note that this is a nut-free facility to accommodate allergies. Shifts are flexible, running from 5am-1 : 30pm or 1 : 30pm-12pm, and may include weekends.
