CNC Programmer - Afternoon Shift

Overview

BWXT Precision Manufacturing Inc. (BWXT PMI) is a leading supplier of nuclear-grade materials and precision-machined components for CANDU nuclear power utilities around the globe. We design and manufacture components such as Fuel Channel End Fittings, Liners, Feeders, and Shield Plugs. We have opportunities across professional disciplines including Machining, Metal Fabrication, Quality Control, Project Management and Engineering. This onsite position is in Oakville, Ontario.

This position is onsite in Oakville, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs using Mastercam for 3+2 axis or full 5 axis milling machines, multi-tasking machines (mill-turn, lathe with live tooling, sub-spindle part transfer) and large lathes.
• Select tools and fixtures to support CNC programs. Design components, jigs and fixtures for new program development.
• Create process setup sheets and tool setup sheets for CNC machined components.
• Interface with production, Engineering and Quality to ensure manufacturing processes are proven prior to production start.
• Collaborate with CNC Machinists to complete part setup sheets and lock in the setup.
• Support Engineers and Manufacturing Specialists to initiate 5S Lean principles and continuous improvement on manufactured parts.
• Support in the trial and implementation of process change requests.
• Run estimated time cycle studies to support proposals for new manufactured projects for sales.

Required Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,500 and $116,000 per year. The base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary by candidate knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. The total compensation package may include an annual cash incentive and a full range of medical, retirement, and other benefits. Details will be provided with an offer of employment.
