Discover Advisory Services

We are looking for a new student wanting to experience the range of disciplines within the Advisory practice of a CPA firm, with the intention of pursing the CPA designation through our Financial Advisory Pre-Approved Program Route. The successful candidate will join our Advisory team, and will gain experience in valuations, financial due diligence, and corporate finance to meet the CPA practical experience requirements. An opportunity to continue with the Advisory practice may be available post-designation.

In joining the Grant Thornton Advisory team, you will :

  • Work with a team of professionals including corporate finance experts, business valuators and other professional advisers who are committed to and understand entrepreneurial people and organizations
  • Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative debate and discussion
  • Be engaged with clients on a variety of local, regional and national projects

You won’t just be playing with numbers, you will be face to face with clients, community leaders and other business prospects. We want you for your business experience and strategic thinking as much as your analytical skills and attention to detail. You will be joining a fresh and growing team, where you will have direct input into shaping the future of the team and the services we provide.

As an Associate, Advisory [New Grad 2024] some of your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :

  • Assistance with;
  • the preparation of business valuations and financial models
  • corporate finance engagements including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
  • corporate restructuring and insolvency engagements
  • business risk and forensics engagements
  • consulting and operational improvement engagements
  • Conducting various research and analysis
  • Supporting business development and proposal activities
  • Attending client meetings and networking functions

  • You have completed your post-secondary degree and have demonstrated academic excellence
  • You are committed to pursuing the CPA designation and completing the relevant pre-requisites
  • An interest in pursuing the CBV designation in the future
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including understanding formula logic and ability to build macros
  • Prior work experience in a business setting
