This role will be responsible for the strategic vision for the company’s standardization of our billing and collection processes while working alongside operations in an enterprise-wide integration of our Salesforce and NetSuite systems and process improvements.
This is a working manager role that is both highly visible and requires the candidate to roll up his / her sleeves to help the team accomplish their deliverables.
The successful candidate will possess a focus on results and be a highly process-oriented individual who can scale and lead a best-in-class team.
This includes excellent leadership capabilities, proven business partnering and outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences both within and outside of finance and Company.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Play a leadership role in the integration of billing and collections systems, including working with consultants and internal stakeholders to assess current systems and processes, gathering and documenting business requirements and needs, advising on and managing implementation timelines and processes, and ensuring ongoing robust communication and coordination of needs and deliverables.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in all billing activities
- Utilize Salesforce and Netsuite to manage customer accounts, invoicing and financial reporting. Ensure seamless integration and functionality between these systems.
- Establish relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for the billing and collection teams and ensure delivery and continuous improvements thereon
- Apply working knowledge of revenue recognition rules of ASC 606 - Revenue Recognition to SAAS contracts and other relevant accounting pronouncements to ensure that billing and collection processes reflect these accounting considerations
- Reconcile customer accounts and payments to ensure for accuracy and participate in the Month-end close process
- Address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from customers promptly and professionally.
- Handle escalations, and work in the capacity of player / coach as needed
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the billing workflow, reduce errors and increase efficiency.
- Coach, train, and develop a team while managing the workflow and prioritization of projects and ensuring on-time execution and completion.
- Provide a positive approach to change with an attention to detail.
- Provide world-class customer service to internal and external customers.
- Communicate with Operations to inform and educate on process, system, and accounting policies.
Primary Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in billing and collection functions
- Experience with international (North and Latin America, Europe, Asia) billing and collection operations and managing teams in these geographies
- Experience with NetSuite (must have) and Salesforce (highly desirable)
- Experience leading a team
- Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, accountability, and integrity
- Detail oriented, well organized, and flexible
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced, evolving organization
- Excellent analytical skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and complete assignments with short deadlines
