Backend Developer

ALS GeoAnalytics is pioneering the integration of geoscience expertise with advanced data analytics to accelerate mineral exploration and maximize resource value. Our GeoAnalytics platform powers large-scale data ingestion, processing, and visualization for our clients across the mining industry. We’re looking for a Backend Developer to join our GeoAnalytics team and help build, scale, and maintain our next-generation data and orchestration systems. You’ll work on infrastructure that drives our lithological prediction platform, tesselation APIs, and backend services — all designed and operated in-house.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python backend systems and microservices for geoanalytics and machine learning workflows
• Develop and maintain AWS Lambda functions and containerized services on ECS / Fargate
• Build and maintain REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, Django, and AWS API Gateway
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform
• Manage data storage and access layers, including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and S3 data lakes
• Collaborate with data scientists and geologists to operationalize machine learning models
• Participate in code reviews, improve CI / CD workflows using GitHub Actions, and advocate for high engineering standards
