This role is 100% onsite in Hamilton with regular travel to Nanticoke (north shore Lake Eerie).

Network / Cyber Technical Architect

About the role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network / Cyber Technical Architect to join our Information System Services team. This full-time contract role will be based onsite in Hamilton supporting both Hamilton and Nanticoke facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network architectures that support business operations. This role will report to the Manager of Information System Services.

Your day-to-day (5 days onsite at the Hamilton Works and / or Nanticoke offices)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document secure network architectures based on business and technical requirements
• Hands-on knowledge of network segmentation, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and Next Generation firewalls is mandatory
• Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation for LAN, WAN, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Configure and manage networking hardware and software including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Implement and monitor network security protocols including VPNs, IDS / IPS, and zero-trust frameworks
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align network solutions with strategic goals
• Lead network-related projects from design through implementation and support
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms to enhance network and security posture
