ca / opportunities. Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist , a senior role focused on the wrangling, visualization, and application of data analytics to support business initiatives.

This role will coordinate team members in solutioning complex business, advise business stakeholders on best courses of action, and support team members in communication of project execution.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English.

  • Education :
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Computer Science, Math & Statistics, or similar discipline
  • Certificates or diplomas in data & analytic field also to be considered
  • Tableau Certification
  • T-SQL Certification
  • Alteryx or Python Certification
  • Experience : 5-8 years in a business intelligence or data analyst role, preferably in an industrial industry
  • Experience querying relational data bases, T-SQL required
  • Robust experience leveraging data housed in a data warehouse
  • Experience with data visualization software and best practices, Tableau required
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, and profiling and corresponding software, preferably Alteryx or python
  • Experience communicating & collaborating with team staff and external stakeholders

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.

S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Key Responsibilities :

  • Data Architecture : execute queries to wrangle and consolidate data in a format that provides insights to business stakeholders
  • Data Visualization : develop tableau dashboards to visualize key business measures that enhance data drive decision making
  • Communication and Teamwork : lead colleagues in solutioning complex business problems & engage business stakeholders in gathering project requirements
  • Data Analysis & Modeling : leverage data with use in analytical applications
  • Support team governance through administrative duties such as process and best practice documentation.
  • Provide & maintain expertise on data management initiatives
