OVERVIEW
This role leads the development and execution of strategic communications across digital, print, media, web, and social platforms to strengthen the hospital’s brand, engagement, and reputation. It collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage content, events, media relations, staff recognition, and outreach initiatives while ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging and effective communication practices.

As a Communication's Specialist, some of the duties you will be involved in are :
Research and creatively write engaging content for various mediums, including memos, newsletters, press releases, blogs, and speaking notesPlan, coordinate, and execute social media content for the hospital’s platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), highlighting staff achievements, and ensuring content aligns with brand guidelinesParticipates in the design, production and distribution of event correspondence and promotional materialAssists in the development of outreach engagement to increase the visibility of the organizationManage corporate print and digital material, including signage and brochuresDesign, produce, and distribute event correspondence and promotional materialsAssist in outreach engagement initiatives to enhance the organization’s visibilityServe as the webmaster for the hospital’s corporate website, managing content creation and updatesParticipate in developing and implementing internal and external communication and engagement plansWorks with internal partners such as both hospital foundations and hospital auxiliaries to collaborate on joint initiativesOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education in the area of Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related fieldThree years related experience in an administrative role providing support to executive level staff or a setting with similar job responsibilities, preferably in a health care or not-for-profit environmentAdvanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe AcrobatExperience with web Content Management Systems (CMS) including SharePointFamiliarity with AODA requirements and creating accessible documents (Word and PDF)Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MailChimp, and SurveyMonkey an assetFamiliarity with digital devices (Apple / Samsung) an assetA dobe Design Suite experience an assetWell-developed Media Relations skills an assetADDITIONAL PERKS AT MAHC

Location : Multi‑Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting.
Exceptions will be considered on a case‑by‑case basisHours of Work : Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm, however shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements.
