Purpose
The purpose of the Client Services / Analyst Trainer position is to provide support and training services for system computer administrative software.
This position reports to ICT Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation of administrative software applications and communications equipment by analyzing products, developing and maintaining documentation, coordinating and conducting Board-wide training for end users.
- Determines requirements and develops / assists users with the development of reports and forms.
- Tests the integration of and evaluates applications and procedures for Technical Application Support Specialists advising of deficiencies and proposing resolutions.
- Identifies and monitors use requirements performing detailed system studies and recommend solutions.
- Maintains standards and procedures set by the department, Board and the Ministry of Education producing, publishing, verifying, and auditing monthly reports.
- Conducts, and / or attends and participates in various committee meetings as required by the department using video‑conferencing equipment, prepares handouts, contacts speakers, and prepares, distributes, and maintains agenda materials.
- Provides ongoing support to users regarding applications, responding to inquiries and service requests, providing on‑line support, receiving, logging, tracking, resolving and / or assigning support calls via the Help Desk, and liaising between schools and vendors testing new equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Completed two (2) year college diploma related to Business Administration or Information Technology.Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a school office environment working with corporate applications and documentation authoring.Minimum one (1) year’s experience in adult education or training.Advanced level computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases (as per KPR’s clerical assessment).Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle.Specialized Skills
Working knowledge of computer applications and skills in office productivity suites (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and computerized student administration systems (Aspen, SchoolMessenger, Edsby).Working knowledge of Ministry of Education reporting systems, such as OnSIS (Ontario School Information System).Proficiency in web applications and website management.Works on projects as part of a team, exchanging ideas and contributing skills that complement those of the other team members.Works independently to solve problems.Meets standards of productivity as defined for the level and the position.Demonstrates concern for the accuracy and quality of work, and takes steps to correct mistakes and improve the overall task.Ability to take on a variety of different tasks and roles within the organization.Can be relied upon to handle a fair workload, meet deadlines and commitments, and accept responsibility for actions.Accepts changes and responds to setbacks with minimal disruption.Demonstrates a sense of responsibility and commitment to the public perception of the organization.Follows through on commitments and remains accountable to their work.Maintains organized records and makes efficient use of resources.Manages time and prioritizes tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.Works with an aim to support the system in attaining goals set out in the Board Action Plan.Demonstrates a strong commitment to the Board’s mission to educate students to excel in learning, succeed in life, and enrich communities.Builds positive relationships through empathetic communication and respectful interactions with students, colleagues, and school community members.Committed to a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.Supervision Of Work
Not responsible for supervision of work but there may be requirements to show others how to perform tasks or duties.Working Conditions
Office environment, some travel.Moderate amounts of dealing with difficult people, moderate visual exertion and keyboarding.A police records check, with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Pardoned Sexual Offenders Database Search, dated within 6 months prior to the date of hire is a requirement for employment with this Board. Please note that there have been reports that it has taken some candidates up to 6 weeks to obtain a police check.
