Engineering Technician

Summary

The Engineering technician will be responsible for providing SMT support for the production lines. Provide first line of defense for Engineering

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide required SMT technical support for the process and equipment

Troubleshoot SMT lines, debug NPI’s,including DEK printers, Koh Young SPI machines, Universal Instruments placement equipment, convection reflow ovens, AOI, and X-ray machines

Assist operators in utilizing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software

Provide backup and training for SMT Operators

Make adjustments on software and hardware tools used in manufacturing

Make adjustments to programs SMT lines and Post equipment

Report weekly on potential process related improvements

Perform basic levels of maintenance following established procedures and assist technicians as required

Continuous improvement through Quality Team involvement

Determine and provide necessary production layouts and tools to support ESS processes

Other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• IPC 610 and Jstd-001 certified
• 3+ years SMT experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must possess experience programming machines
• Background in a high mix and medium to high volume, system level, mechanical assembly and SMT manufacturing environment is desirable
• Must have an understanding of computer aided / integrated design software in manufacturing
• Universal Instruments SMT equipment knowledge is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to be an empowered contributor working in a fast paced dynamic team driven organization
