0.2 FTE District English Language Learning (ELL) Teacher

Temporary : Immediately – March 13, 2026, or full return of the incumbent

NOTE : This assignment may end prior to the end date. The FTE of the assignment may also be adjusted throughout the assignment based on the incumbent's return.

Qualifications :

• BC Certification
• Bachelor of Education
• Significant coursework and / or certification in teaching strategies for English language learners
• Demonstrated experience teaching and ability to select appropriate materials and equipment for English language learners
• Ability to model, through demonstration teaching, appropriate strategies and techniques for staff to use to assist ELL students in regular classrooms
• Create annual instructional plans
• Demonstrated experience and / or training in the assessment of English language proficiency levels for English language learners
• Previous successful experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred
• Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum, including the learning and core competencies and appropriate resources, is essential

Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies is essential

The annual salary for this position ranges from $60,337 to $111,450, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
