Trails Operations Technician

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a full‑time Trails Operations Technician within the Parks & Trails Division. The role reports to the Manager, Parks Operations and is supervised by the Parks Operations Coordinator.

Responsibilities

The Trails Operations Technician performs a wide variety of tasks related to technical research and delivery support for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of community and regional trails and park sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma specializing in trails and / or parks operations and maintenance or a related field.
• A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in parks and trail operations and maintenance, preferably in a local government setting.
• WHMIS certification (provided by the employer).
• First Aid, Level 1 with CPR.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License (employer‑provided vehicle).

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Compensation

Guaranteed 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. The position may require some evenings and weekends. Flextime is offered. Work‑from‑home is not eligible.

Wage rate in 3 steps as per the Collective Agreement : $40.01 – $41.15 – $42.39 per hour (2025 rates). The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
