Your new role
We are currently seeking a Core Logging Geologist to join our client’s operations in Sudbury, ON. This is a contract opportunity, and the incumbent will be working 5 days per week (Monday-Friday) 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm (excluding recognized holidays).
Core Logging Geologists provide geological services primarily focused on core logging, geotechnical logging, and core logging QA / QC. The successful candidates would also have some knowledge or exposure to interpreting results, exploring for additional reserves, and defining current resources and reserves. The candidates could also assist with the designing and implementing drill programs.
What you'll need to succeed
Follow a departmental safety program : attend and participate in daily safety line-up meetings, monthly safety meetings, required safety training and adhere to site requirements.
Geological and geotechnical core logging, sampling, QA / QC
Must be physically capable of handling 300 ft-1,000 ft of diamond drill core per day. Individual core boxes can range in weight from 12 to 30 kg.
Operation of mobile equipment, as required, to perform duties both on the surface
Identify, analyze, and rmend opportunities for safety, productivity, and cost improvements.

Education : The successful candidate will possess a Geological Technologist Diploma (focus on geology) preferred B.Sc. Geology or B.Sc. Geological Engineering
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12–24 months' experience.
