Responsibilities

As a Tax Manager, you’ll help our clients with corporate tax planning so they can benefit from tax savings and incentives. Here’s some of what you’ll get to do:

• Coaching and mentoring a team of tax colleagues on compliance, helping them walk in clients' shoes by discussing tax planning options
• Establish deep trusting relationships with clients as you advise them on complex tax matters
• Advise clients on reorganizations, rollovers, windups, estate and succession planning, as well as manage T1, T2 and T3 returns
• Proactively resolve tax related issues with clients and other team members
• Act as a leader in the management of our growing tax practice, identifying and developing new opportunities for additional tax services

A typical day…

You talk with the CFO from a large manufacturing client, discuss tax solutions with the Tax Partner and collaborators, share feedback with coachees to ensure they have what they need, and coordinate with specialists to prepare for meetings with clients.

Qualifications

• You’re enrolled in or have completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course, or have a Masters of Taxation degree
• You’ve developed and presented new ideas and conceptualized new approaches and tax solutions for clients as part of your commitment to providing exceptional client service
• You have solid experience in corporate and personal Canadian tax compliance
• You’ve helped mentor and develop others

At Doane Grant Thornton, we’re committed to fair, equitable and competitive compensation. For this role, the base salary ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 in Langley, BC. Salaries in other locations may vary based on geography and other factors.
