Reporting to the Director, Project Services, your key role will be to diligently monitor schedules and coordinate between different stakeholders to carry out the integrated planning for a project’s entire life cycle.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Develop, maintain and update project schedules using the critical path method (CPM) and specialized software (Primavera P6 and MS Project).
- Work with the engineering, permitting, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to include activities in the integrated project schedule up until the initial excavation.
- Monitor work progress and inform stakeholders of any holdups so that a mitigation plan can be created.
- Carry out and/or lead schedule optimization exercises with various stakeholders to create plans to speed up the work or get it back on schedule.
- Use the earned value method to help the Project team determine how projects are progressing. Quantify the work performed, determine actual progress made, and update cashflow curves.
Profil recherché
- Degree in engineering, project management, construction engineering, or any other relevant education.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the planning of industrial or mining projects, with at least one construction-phase project.
- Excellent proficiency in recognized planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) as well as Excel.
- Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A solid command of the principles of earned value management.
- Proficiency in French and English.
