This is the Assistant Controller position for you if you are a self-starter with a history of successfully identifying issues and resolving problems. The Assistant Controller will supervise the accounting staff while reporting to the Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Winnipeg, Manitoba area. Major responsibilities

• Arrange numerous policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses
• Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
• Inspect and make Ad Hoc financial reports
• Exceptional preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
• Fulfill the Company’s Canadian income tax return filing requirements in a timely manner.
• Make relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets / outlook, the monthly flash report, and key financial metrics
• This position will be 80% reporting and 20% tax
• Identify and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
• Backfill for Controller as needed
• Support accountability and the meeting of deliverables
• Sustain implementation and secure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
