Materials Technical Assistant

Either way - we are looking for people across all our rich diversity to perform field and laboratory quality assurance testing on soil aggregates asphalt and cement concrete products for City of Edmonton construction projects. Here is your chance to apply your knowledge of materials testing your passion for working outside and your skills in collaboration to support critical quality assurance work in our section. Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve timely and accurate results in the context of a respectful inclusive and service-minded style.

What will you do :

• Sample asphalt soils concrete gravel and other related materials
• Perform inspections of asphalt and concrete plants that are producing materials for use on City of Edmonton construction projects
• Perform field coring on asphalt mixes for thickness and compaction determination
• Complete preventative maintenance and ensure all equipment is properly maintained to ensure it is in good and safe working order
• Operate field and laboratory test equipment
• Record test results and prepare standard test reports
• Perform all duties in accordance with provincial and municipal Occupational Health & Safety regulations
• Perform other related duties as required

Hours of Work : 40 hours per week Sunday-Saturday 24 / 7 coverage. Applicants may be required to work shift work on short notice holidays and after hours and early morning shifts as required to fulfill operational requirements

Salary : $27.401 - $34.318 (Hourly)
