Please do not click on the apply Safety and Well-Being Coordinator 2 Year Term PositionDo you have a passion for building safer more inclusive communities and thrive in collaborative cross-sector environments Do you adapt well to complexity and feel comfortable navigating evolving policy and service landscapes If so we have a unique two-year term position for a Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Coordinator in the City of Wetaskiwin!The Community Safety & Well-Being (CSWB) Strategy Coordinator is responsible for leading the implementation coordination and ongoing evolution of the City of Wetaskiwins Community Safety & Well-Being Strategy. This position serves as the central coordinating role supporting collective action across municipal departments and community partners to address complex and interconnected social challenges including people experiencing homelessness racism and systemic inequity community violence and property crime mental health children & youth safety and Indigenous by the Governing Board of the CSWB Strategy (City of Wetaskiwin FCSS and RCMP) the Coordinator works to align efforts strengthen relationships and support shared outcomes related to community safety and well-being. This role emphasizes prevention equity reconciliation and evidence-informed decision-making ensuring the Strategy remains a responsive plan that adapts to changing community Community Safety and Well-Being Coordinator will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Wetaskiwins Community Safety and Well-Being Strategy. This is a highly collaborative role that works across municipal departments community organizations Indigenous partners service providers and enforcement agencies to turn strategy into meaningful ResponsibilitiesStrategy Implementation & CoordinationLead implementation of the Community Safety and Well-Being Strategy and associated action plans; ensure progress against goals outcomes and performance as the central coordination point supporting shared leadership among the City of Wetaskiwin FCSS RCMP and community partners in accordance with the Strategys governance the Steering Committee partners by coordinating meetings preparing agendas and materials tracking action items and supporting emerging community risks trends and priorities and support adaptive responses consistent with the Strategys preventative and systems-based approach. Community Engagement & InclusionDesign and coordinate inclusive community engagement processes including consultations workshops and public engagement events to ensure diverse perspectives and lived experiences inform community-informed approaches that address stigma racism and systemic inequities identified within the shared understanding of community safety and well-being as a collective responsibility that extends beyond enforcement Development & EvaluationDevelop coordinate and support community safety and well-being programs public education campaigns and priority-driven initiatives (e.g. youth violence prevention homelessness support anti-racism efforts).Support evidence-informed planning through data collection evaluation performance measurement and reports briefings and presentations for Senior Leadership Council and community committees on strategy progress outcomes challenges and & Resource DevelopmentIdentify and pursue provincial federal and philanthropic funding opportunities that support the strategys on grant applications program budgets and resource Governance & Partnership Development Facilitate and support multi-sector action tables working groups and collaborations involving municipal and provincial departments local and regional service providers and diverse community and maintain strong trust-based relationships with community partners including equity-deserving groups and Indigenous communities with particular attention to strengthening relationships between Wetaskiwin and Maskwacî as a connector between initiatives organizations and systems to reduce duplication support alignment and strengthen collective and ExperiencePost-secondary education in Public Administration Social Work Criminology Community Development Public Health Social Policy or related to five (35) years of professional experience in Community Development / Capacity Building Project Coordination Social Sector (i.e. Nonprofit) Navigation Policy Development or related work within Complex Social or Community-Based -secondary education in Indigenous Studies or a related field (certificate diploma or equivalent learning / experience) is an & SkillsExperience working across sectors and systems including municipalities non-profits Indigenous organizations government agencies and service understanding of community safety and well-being principles including prevention social determinants of well-being collective impact and equity-informed to work adaptively within complex and evolving environments balancing structure with flexibility while maintaining focus on shared facilitation relationship-building and collaboration supporting data-informed planning monitoring evaluation or continuous learning written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare reports and present information to diverse to reconciliation cultural humility and inclusive community-centered Join Our TEAMCompetitive Salary and work that addresses complex social challenges through collaboration rather than to play a central role in implementing a community informed strategy focused on long-term preventative change.
