Support frontline healthcare staff by delivering Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in Toronto

Volunteer Delivery Drivers deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Personal Support Workers, Nurses or other frontline home healthcare staff at various locations in Toronto.

Volunteer Delivery Drivers pick-up PPE from VHA and deliver it to designated staff between 9 : 00 a.m. -4 : 00p.m. Wednesday to Friday. The locations and times of each assignment depend upon the availability of each volunteer and the established delivery schedule.

Purpose : This role ensures that healthcare staff receive resources that are required to support safety while providing essential healthcare services.

Area Served : Toronto : Scarborough, North York, East York, York, and Toronto

Schedule : Volunteers must be available at least one day : Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, during business hours. Schedule to be determined and agreed by the volunteer in collaboration with the service coordinator, depending upon needed deliveries, delivery locations, schedule, & Volunteer availability

Responsibilities

• Volunteer uses their own vehicle to pick up PPE from VHA Home HealthCare and deliver it to staff
• Volunteers are provided with a destination address, contact and phone number, and will deliver PPE packages to VHA staff ensuring that it is received
• Deliveries are 'no contact' and physical distancing is practiced
• VHA Staff load PPE into the vehicle at pick-up
• At the PPE delivery location, a staff supervisor may collect PPE from the volunteer's vehicle
• Alternatively, volunteers deliver PPE to a location and stay on-site to distribute it to staff
