Controller

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller – Client Accounting to lead national client accounting operations for a fast-growing real estate management group. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment and is passionate about building strong teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional client value.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of client accounting operations across Canada

Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with regulatory and client requirements

Provide strategic guidance on financial matters and risk management

Champion technology enhancements and process improvements to support scalable growth

Oversee onboarding and offboarding of property portfolios from a financial perspective

Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning

Requirements

CPA designation required

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA is an asset)

7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a senior leadership role

Real estate / property management experience (must-have)

Proficiency with Yardi (must-have)

Experience with air space / cost share reconciliations (CAM-style accounting for mixed-use developments) and developer onboarding

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Advanced Excel capabilities and ERP experience
