Senior Security Service Technician

We are looking for a motivated, attentive and hardworking  Network Specialist  with  security access control, video management and audio   visual  experience. The ideal individual will have at least 5 years of experience in installing emergency communications and security systems and has a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Server and Networking and switches environments. Genetec and Axis certification or knowledge is an asset.

Full time - 40 hours a week with the availability of overtime

Start and end times vary – but your typical day will run from 8 am – 4 : 30pm

Requirements :

• Perform service and new installation commissioning activities on access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.
• Advanced capabilities for troubleshooting, audio system and video set up
• Minimum of 5 years of previous, security Access Control systems experience required
• Genetec Certification is preferred
• Proficient with SQL and Windows OS
• Diploma in Electronics preferred

Position Description :

• Programming of servers in Windows environments (SQL, Microsoft Server, Management Studio, Server Manager)
• Lead various projects to completion under the Project Manager
• Installation and service of IP based and analog CCTV (Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon) 2-year Associate degree in a technical field involving electronics or computers preferred
• Build equipment system racks, pull cable, and prepare equipment for installation
• Installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors / videowalls and related sub-mounts.
• Assists with testing of system components to assure system completeness and convention
• Demonstrate working knowledge of electricity and electronics
• Demonstrate aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs
• Working knowledge of IT network systems
• Program & test a variety of non-routine security systems and equipment.
• Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Write a variety of non-routine programs for systems
• Work with minimal supervision
• Review and interpret electrical drawings
• General housekeeping of work area
• Able to provide excellent customer service and maintain an approachable and professional demeanor while on the job
• Attention to detail
• Team Player
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to complete and submit required paperwork in a timely manner
• Great time management skills, with experience in prioritizing tasks in order of urgency
• Experience within a service van technician role
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Knowledge of Physical installation and hands on tools experience an asset
• Ability to work alone as well as jointly with other technicians and trades.
