Maritime Electric is seeking a Corporate Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic team. It’s an exciting time to be working at our company with hundreds of dedicated Islanders powering the PEI’s electricity system. Our communications team works across departments in both internal and external communications. Together, we do meaningful work for our customers across media, digital platforms, and the community. We’re looking for a high-energy self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will confidently be able to balance multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
What You’ll Do
- Create communications and marketing content for web, social media, print, and other channels.
- Support media relations, including preparing materials and assisting with inquiries.
- Analyze digital metrics and develop reports to guide communication strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to graphic design and digital content creation.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly under pressure.
What You Bring
Excellent written and oral communication skills.Sound judgment and strong attention to detail.Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.Experience with social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.3–5 years of communications or public relations experience.Media relations experience.Experience with graphic design tools (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and / or video production (asset).Utility communications experience (asset).Willingness to work some overtime and after hours if required for storms and emergencies.Why Work for Us
