The following temporarypositions are open for applications : EDUCATION ASSISTANT – SPECIAL EDUCATION CUPE Competition No. 5839EDUCATION ASSISTANT – SUPERVISION Location : District– North Spring Creek Community School Temporary : September3, 2024 to June 27, 2025, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first Hours : 4.7hours per day, for all days school is in session for students (EducationAssistant) 1hour per day, for all days school is in session for students (Supervision) Rate of Pay : $33.69 / hour (Education Assistant) $31.49 / hour(Supervision) Duties &Responsibilities : Underthe direction of the Principal(s) and the general supervision of the ClassroomTeacher(s), provides assistance to students who have physical disabilities,chronic health impairments, intellectual disabilities and / or social, emotionaland behavioural problems as designated by the Director of Instruction, whilesupporting the achievement of stated programs goals and objectives. Supervisionof a designated area either inside or outside the school, before, during and / orafter school as defined by the terms of the assignment. These positions will require the successful applicants to deliver a higher level of care. Qualifications : Completion of Grade 12plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and including one (1)year’s related experience. A specialprogram would be the Capilano University Education Assistant Program. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License.Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learning tools (ie.computers, etc).
