Technical Experts – Bilingual Psychometrician (CPAP)
Job Summary and Key Activities
Assessors, CPAP Accreditation play a key role in the assessment of CPAP customers as part of the SCC’s the Certification of Persons Accreditation Program (CPAP).
Working on a contractual basis , CPAP accreditation Assessors use their expertise in conformity assessment methodologies to assist the assessment team in the evaluation of CPAP customers seeking accreditation.
Assessors are responsible for assessing CPAP customers against the requirements of ISO / IEC 17024 : 2012 Conformity assessment — General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons.
They will apply their considerable conformity assessment expertise by reviewing customer policies and procedures, reviewing the customer files, conducting interviews with customer personnel, reviewing personnel records, and evaluating other aspects of CPAP operations.
CPAP Assessors bring their strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as sound judgement to handle difficult situations raised during the assessment.
CPAP Technical Experts - Psychometrician play a key role in the assessment of customers by applying their extensive technical expertise to evaluate the competence of personnel, and the conformity of processes. They will apply their considerable technical expertise by conducting file reviews, interviews with customer personnel and witness audits to support accreditation assessments on a contractual basis.
Key Activities
- Work closely with the SCC Lead Assessor to determine the scope and criteria to be assessed
- Review Customer’s QMS system, SOPs, procedures, forms, work instructions, job aids in order to assess evidence of conformity with relevant criteria
- Review Customer’s personnel competency management system, personnel HR records, customer file records in order to assess evidence of conformity with relevant criteria
- Observe the work of certification personnel to assess the conformity to procedures and application of relevant criteria via a Witness Audit
- Gather the objective evidence of conformances and non-conformances during the assessment
- Reports to the Lead Assessor on findings and provides recommendations based on evidence
Essential Qualifications for Assessors
Education
Post-secondary education in relevant disciplineFormal training in applicableExperience
Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in a certification setting or Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in an accreditation body (AB) settingExperience applying conformity assessment methodologies, and analysing skills in relevant CPAP sectorExperience auditing CPAP processes and procedures via an internal audit or external auditTechnical Expert : Psychometrician will also evaluate scheme development, the fairness, validity, reliability and general performance of examinationsKnowledge of Certification Personnel business environmentsKnowledge of the CPAP technical sectors and or SCC CPAP programsEvidence of training (certificate) in ISO / IEC 17024 : 2012- Conformity assessment — General requirements for bodies operating certification of personsExperience assessing systems to the ISO / IEC 17024 requirements (3 years)Knowledge and / or experience with certification schemes developmentKnowledge and or experience in psychometrics would be considered an assetFluent in French and English (bilingual)Ability to gather and record the objective evidenceAbility to apply the conformity assessment methodologiesAbility to draft the findingsSkills
