We are currently seeking a Full‑Time Teacher to join our School and our LEARN team for the 2025–2026 school year. The Teaching within our LEARN team will be working with children in childcare facilities in all quadrants of the city.
The candidate must hold a valid Alberta Interim or Permanent Teaching Certificate. It is a condition of employment at Providence that all employees are vaccinated against COVID‑19.

Possess broad background and extensive knowledge of best practices, methods and strategies for working with and teaching children with complex needsHave demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and other stakeholdersBe adaptable. Children are busy and active – so you are too. Adaptability is important because every day will be different and the candidate will have to navigate their way through rapidly changing environments with enthusiasm, problem‑solving skills and humourBe flexible, curious, creative, and able to multi‑task in our ever‑evolving world in pediatricsEnjoy working with a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver child‑focused servicesResponsibilities Include to :
Plan and Implement programs following Alberta Education ECS guidelinesProvide developmentally appropriate and engaging learning opportunities to special education children in a vibrant play‑based programEstablish and maintain a classroom that is safe, stimulating, and age appropriateProvide written reports or update relating to the children’s progress and goals as described in their IPP’SSupervise and lead a team of paraprofessionals, providing clear direction and setting high expectationsQualifications :
Must have an Education degree from a recognized Canadian universityMust have Alberta Interim / Permanent Teacher CertificateValid First Aid and CPR CertificateExperience working as a Teacher with children that display challenging behaviour or have disabilitiesDemonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsMust possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and $2,000,000 liability insurance (LEARN position only).Must be willing to travel within Calgary and to surrounding areas (LEARN position only).Personal suitability NOTE : This position requires lifting and carrying demands that require the ability to bend at the waist, stoop, and twist frequently, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, the ability to carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs, and the ability to stand, walk and sit frequently.
