POSITION : Teacher - General - temporary

ASSIGNMENT : Elementary (K-7)

FTE : 0.2

LOCATION : Wells / Barkerville Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES : Commencing September 1, 2024 until June 30, 2025

Basic Qualifications : A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following :

Training Specialization : Elementary Education with specialization at the primary / intermediate level

Related Teaching Experience : Recent successful experience teaching at the primary / intermediate level

A Reasonable Expectation : based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

• Exemplary experience as a classroom teacher
• Willingness to work as a member of the school-base team
• Willingness to work as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan
• Willingness to support whole school environmental initiatives
• Commitment to school-wide Positive Behaviour Support program as a form of addressing behaviour in the classroom and the school as a whole
• Knowledge and skill in current practices in assessment for learning
• Schedule as arranged by school principal

The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
