Senior Manager Investment Accounting

We are seeking a Senior Manager Investment Accounting to join a dynamic finance team on an 12-month contract with a possibility to get extended for another 6-12 mon. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role and help grow a world-class controllership function that prioritizes people, process excellence, and long-term growth.Joining this company, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial reporting processes for a sophisticated investment platform. You will manage month-end and year-end close activities, legal entity reporting, and partner closely with teams across the organization to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial results.Location: Toronto, ON - downtown, 4 days/onsiteContract: 12 months with possibility of extension.What You'll DoLead Month-End & Year-End Close: Oversee ledger close processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with enterprise standards.Manage Financial Reporting Deliverables: Review accounting templates, journal entries, and reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.Maintain Strong Controls: Supervise daily trial balance attestations, investigate variances, and uphold a robust control environment.Legal Entity Reporting: Prepare and review statutory financial statements, audit support, and tax reporting packages.Business Partner Collaboration: Act as the main liaison with various internal teams to resolve complex accounting issues.Mentor and Lead: Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.Drive Process Improvements: Lead initiatives around automation, control enhancements, and close cycle efficiency.Support Strategic Initiatives: Participate in ad hoc projects, regulatory reporting, and strategic finance initiatives.- Accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CA).- 6-8 years of experience in financial reporting and investment accounting. - In-depth knowledge of financial instruments, with strong technical accounting expertise under IFRS.- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and operational excellence.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and effectively present complex information.- Proficiency in enterprise financial systems.- Experience in process improvement, automation, and enhancing financial controls.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
