Description de postePrepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware Assist in framing, sheathing and finishing Practice job site safety Maintain a high standard of housekeeping habits that include work areas and tools English is the language used at the workplace 1 – 2years of rough or finishing carpentry experience as a minimum. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements an asset Work Safely and without guidance Have own tools and transportwith a valid driver license Be personable and able to communicate with clients and trades Have above average problem-solving skills and be able to overcome obstacles on complicated projects Be professional and respectful demeanour with clients, sub-trades, and crew members High School Certificate (Grade 12) Base rate of $24.88 per hour, plus the following : Will include on each hour worked : 40 hours per week, paid bi-weekly Should overtime be required, will be paid after 40 hrs @ 1.5 Worker will join the Construction Maintenance Allied Workers union once trial period is complete. The applicant will be working in Prince Rupert at various sites and extended services to Terrace.
