Title : Junior Software Developer
Location : Calgary, Canada (2 days onsite per week)
Summary
We require a junior motivated GIS developer to script, develop and automate spatial data processes. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with ESRI and open source tools and technologies such as ESRI ArcGIS Desktop or Pro, QGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Oracle, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases. ETL products such as FME or GDAL is highly desirable. Other open source GIS technologies will also be considered. Experience with Python, C# or other software development languages is required. Experience in AWS or other cloud platforms is also a plus.

As part of a project team to develop and deliver internal process-automation systems, this position will work under the guidance of the Spatial Delivery Team. Candidates are expected to perform scripting and development work using various languages such as Python, C#, PowerShell or Bash. An appreciation of Project Management Methodologies (especially Agile) is therefore important.
The systems include spatial data maintenance, spatial validation and spatial data distribution processes as well as data conversion, coordinate transformation, mapping and general maintenance of internal spatial data structures.
