Senior Mechanical Estimator - HVAC

Overview:
Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator who knows the Ottawamercial construction market and is ready to take ownership of the estimating function?
We’re working with an established mechanical contractor looking to add a Senior Mechanical Estimator to their Ottawa team. This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator with strong knowledge ofmercial HVAC, sheet metal and mechanical systems to take projects from initial opportunity through tender, award and handover.
You’ll have significant autonomy over the estimating process while working closely with contractors, suppliers and the construction team.
What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead estimates formercial and institutional HVAC/mechanical projects
• Negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Identify risks, scope gaps and value-engineering opportunities
• Manage multiple tenders and maintain the bid pipeline
• Build relationships with Ottawa-area GCs, developers and suppliers
• Hand awarded projects over to the construction team

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience
• Strongmercial HVAC, sheet metal and mechanical systems knowledge
• Mechanical contracting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of Ontario tendering, labour/material costs and construction margins
• Estimating software and Excel experience
• Established relationships within the Ottawamercial construction market are a strong asset

The Package:

• $120,000-$140,000 base salary
