Our utilities client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to assist with an application rationalization program, including evaluation and proposing enterprise applications through data analysis utilizing Excel
Calgary candidates preferred, but open to Calgary or Edmonton. Hybrid work schedule of 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH. 37.5 hour work week.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst with a focus on enterprise applications
- Experience with application rationalization (Evaluating requests for new applications, proposing applications that currently exist)
- Experience facilitating workshops and meetings to elicit insights from subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements related to application rationalization efforts.
- Advanced Excel skills: pivots and presentations
- Previous experience in utilities or Energy
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with mergers, divestitures, or transformations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, problem solving skills
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze the current application landscape to identify redundancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements related to application rationalization efforts.
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing applications, considering factors such as usage, cost, and alignment with business goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for consolidating, retiring, or replacing applications in line with organizational objectives.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit insights from subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure a smooth transition during the application rationalization process.
- Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of application rationalization efforts.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization of the application portfolio.
