It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!\nWe're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.\n\nIf you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!\n\nLumentum Canada was awarded the 2022 National Capital Region’s Top Employers \nfor the 6th consecutive year\n and the 2022 Career Directory Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates \nfor the 5th consecutive year\n.\n\nIt's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!\nWe're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.\n\nIf you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic overachievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!\n\nLumentum Canada was awarded the 2022 National Capital Region’s Top Employers \nfor the 6th consecutive year\n and the 2022 Career Directory Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates \nfor the 5th consecutive year\n.\n\nLumentum is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to play a leading role in the development of software for a new generation of leading-edge LiDAR products.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n Work with multidisciplinary teams to define new product requirements.\n Document and review requirements and designs with peers and stake holders.\n Participate in board bring up of new hardware designs\n Develop and maintain U-boot drivers\n Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules\n Develop and maintain system level embedded software.\n Analyse and optimize system performance.\n Document, review and execute designer test cases.\n Provide support throughout the software and product verification cycle.\n Troubleshoot low level software issues.\n Participate in code inspections.\n Provide guidance to and share technical expertise with more junior members of the software team.\n\nEducation:\n Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.\n\nQualifications:\n 6+ years of embedded C/C++ development experience.\n Solid understanding of multi-threaded software design.\n Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.\n Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills.\n Source code control (Git, Subversion).\n\nAssets:\n Knowledge of metrology/sensor technology (optical amplifiers/image processing).\n Experience in Embedded Linux systems with strong understanding of multithreaded and multicore applications.\n Understanding of hardware devices such as ADCs/DACs/Clocks/UART/FPGA.\n Experience with interfacing to embedded devices via interfaces such as I2C, SPI, dual port RAM, RS-232.\n Cross compiling/remote debugging.\n Ability to use a schematic to understand how electronic devices are connected.\n Python development experience.\n Cdevelopment experience.\n* Knowledge of Microsoft Win32 API.
