Civil Earthworks Estimator Project Manager

Lead civil earthworks estimating from Thompson Construction Group’s Spruce Grove office, with Excel and project scheduling central to this hybrid role.

As an Estimator / Project Manager, you will develop estimates for proposals, feasibility studies, and active projects. You will review tenders, prepare execution plans, and support operations during site assignments. The role primarily reports to the Estimating Manager, with project management reporting to the Director of Strategic Assets. Travel typically occurs approximately every three weeks, depending on project demands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual and detailed project estimates
• Review tender scope, requirements, risks, and design options
• Prepare schedules, execution plans, and personnel histograms
• Compare supplier and subcontractor pricing
• Support project timelines, budgets, changes, and reporting onsite

Requirements:

• Minimum five years estimating or project management experience
• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Understanding of civil earthworks construction and project execution
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and scheduling software skills
• Valid Class 5 licence and Fort McMurray travel willingness
