Apply geotechnical characterization and rock mechanics principles as a Junior Engineer in Vancouver, supporting surface and underground mine design projects.
SRK Consulting seeks a junior engineer for its Rock Mechanics department. You will consult for North American and international mining clients, contributing to multidisciplinary assignments from conceptual studies through detailed design, construction, and mine closure. Travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult on projects for North American and international clients
- Perform geotechnical characterization for mining projects
- Apply rock mechanics principles to mine design issues
- Support project scopes through construction and mine closure
- Liaise with other technical specialists in multidisciplinary teams
Requirements:
- Degree in geological, mining, or geotechnical engineering
- One to three years of relevant experience
- Experience with geotechnical logging, mapping, and rock mass characterization
- Understanding of two-dimensional or three-dimensional numerical modelling packages
- Valid driver’s license and Vancouver location or relocation ability
Develop geotechnical engineering expertise through rock mechanics consulting, mine design, multidisciplinary projects, and international client assignments.
