Support an elderly gentleman with Alzheimer’s in Angus through calm morning care, personal assistance, medication reminders, and gentle redirection. This temporary coverage runs weekday mornings.
As a caregiver, you will support his independence while helping with dressing, washing, breakfast, and his morning routine. Experience with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, personal care, and cognitive changes is important. The work continues until friends arrive for his daily coffee outing around noon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with dressing and clothing orientation
- Prepare toasted bagel, jam, and coffee
- Ensure prescribed morning medications are taken
- Provide memory prompts and gentle redirection
- Remain until friends arrive around noon
Requirements:
- Personal Support Worker certification
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience supporting Alzheimer’s or dementia
- Calm, patient, and reliable communication
- Ability to respect independence and work independently
