Provide resident-centered care as a Temporary Full-Time Personal Support Worker near Ottawa, using communication skills and current CPR certification.
This Personal Support Worker serves Nursing in a long-term care home within a rural community hospital. The role supports residents’ physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs through care plans and goals. Collaboration, prioritization, and knowledge of GPA and BSO are important.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide resident-centered care in long-term care
- Address physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs
- Follow residents’ plans of care and goals
- Interpret and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Support care consistent with the Residents Bill of Rights
Requirements:
- Recognized PSW program meeting current Ontario Ministry standards
- Working knowledge of Gentle Persuasive Approach and Behavioral Support Ontario
- Current CPR certification
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and work collaboratively within a team
