Apply phlebotomy expertise as a Medical Laboratory Assistant I in Cold Lake, supporting safe, efficient clinical laboratory service. This is casual relief work.
The Healthcare Centre Laboratory seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant I for Cold Lake Hlthcare/Mental Hlth. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, ECGs, and reception duties. The position requires an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent, plus strong communication and time management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform adult, child, and infant phlebotomy
- Accession patient specimens and troubleshoot problem specimens
- Collect and process quality specimens for analysis
- Perform ECGs and reception duties
- Handle preanalytical laboratory workflow activities
Requirements:
- Complete an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
- Demonstrate required phlebotomy experience
- Communicate effectively in written and oral formats
- Manage time, priorities, interruptions, and changing conditions
- Represent Laboratory Medicine respectfully and professionally
