Database Administrator SQL Server

Lead Microsoft SQL Server administration and development for the Greater Essex County District School Board in Windsor, Ontario. Support student and business systems.

This full-time Database Administrator contract lasts 18 months within Information Technology Services. The technical lead supports databases, integrations, data warehouses, reporting, and internally developed applications. Work includes T-SQL, relational modelling, performance tuning, security, backups, and recovery. The position also develops applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET/C#, PHP, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, secure, optimize, and support Board databases
• Maintain software, backups, recovery, testing, and documentation
• Develop applications, scripts, tools, reports, and dashboards
• Schedule and monitor integrations using SQL Agent, ETL, APIs, SFTP, and PowerShell
• Provide technical escalation and on-call support during critical periods

Requirements:

• Three years of progressive database administration and development experience
• Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, modelling, tuning, security, and recovery experience
• Web and business application development experience with listed technologies
• Proficiency with PowerShell, SQL Agent, SSIS, and SSRS or equivalents
• Bachelor’s degree, diploma, technical training, or equivalent approved experience
