Build scrap-handling skills with Gerdau as a full-time Laborer in Guelph, Ontario. Learn yard operations, equipment care, and safe material handling.
This entry-level position welcomes candidates without previous scrap metals or recycling experience. You will learn scrap inspection, sortation, mobile equipment operation, and general yard maintenance. Strong communication and a strong work ethic support safe daily operations with coworkers, drivers, peddlers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow Gerdau safety, environmental, and yard procedures
- Operate forklifts while progressing toward loader operation
- Inspect, sort, load, and unload scrap materials
- Perform and document daily Routine Equipment Care
- Maintain clean work areas and equipment
Requirements:
- Ability to learn scrap metals and recycling operations
- Strong work ethic and communication skills
- High school education preferred but not required
- Desire to develop skills as a Gerdau employee
- Ability to work in person in Guelph
Develop scrap inspection, forklift operation, equipment care, and safety skills while supporting Gerdau’s Guelph yard.
