Launch structural design engineering work with Kiewit Power Engineering in Calgary, applying structural calculations and drawing preparation. This full-time position supports power construction projects.
As an entry-level Structural Design Engineer, you will support designs for structures across moderate to large projects. You will research systems, prepare calculations and drawings, and apply department and industry standards. The work includes coordinating with construction teams, vendors, fabricators, owners, and other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare structural designs through research, system selection, analysis, and drawings
- Apply department and industry standards to calculations and specifications
- Incorporate EPC contracts, RFPs, and other contractual requirements
- Coordinate structural issues with internal and external project partners
- Update project plans, schedules, budgets, and staffing needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering
- Structural focus within an engineering program
- Zero to two years of structural design experience preferred
- EIT licensure or eligibility within Canada
- Experience with SAP2000, SAFE, SpMats, or MathCAD advantageous
Develop structural calculations, designs, and project coordination skills while supporting Kiewit power facilities from Calgary.
