Support accurate prescription dispensing as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician, using pharmacy systems, customer service, and careful medication preparation.
At Shoppers Drug Mart, assist with technical dispensing functions and pharmacy services while maintaining pharmacy operations. Serve customers promptly and pleasantly, following Pharmacy Standards of Practice and confidentiality requirements. This position requires prescription workflow knowledge, data entry, third-party adjudication, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather prescription information according to established standards
- Accurately dispense, count, measure, package, and label medications
- Enter prescriptions and process refill requests
- Refer clinical inquiries and counseling needs to pharmacists
- Maintain dispensary cash registers and customer transactions
Requirements:
- Registration with the corresponding provincial licensing college
- Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College
- Previous pharmacy experience preferred
- Effective organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
