Support French immersion students at École Ste. Marguerite d'Youville using fluent French and English communication. This part-time morning assignment totals 16.25 hours weekly.
The Educational Assistant supports students with mild to severe needs across intellectual, emotional, learning, communication, sensory, physical, or medical areas. The position contributes to Christ-centered education and advances Truth and Reconciliation. It requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and support for diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with identified learning, communication, behavioural, and physical needs
- Help implement Individual Program Plans with classroom teams
- Apply positive behavioural supports and proactive intervention strategies
- Model social skills and teach emotional regulation
- Support Google Apps and assistive communication technology
Requirements:
- Complete MacEwan University’s Education Assistant Program or equivalent training
- Communicate fluently in spoken and written French and English
- Demonstrate positive approaches to social-emotional-behavioural needs
- Work flexibly with a strong interdisciplinary team
- Lift and toilet students as required
